UK Championship Snooker 23rd November- 6th December, From Milton Keynes Marshall Arena

Due to strict UK government health guidelines, the 2020/21 season has been shifted behind closed doors to a temporary set-up at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes with players subjected to regular Covid-19 testing at events.

The UK Championship is a professional ranking snooker tournament. It is one of snooker’s prestigious Triple Crown events, along with the World Championship and the Masters. It is the second-biggest ranking tournament, after the World Championship. Ronnie O’Sullivan has won the tournament a record seven times, followed by Steve Davis with six titles and Stephen Hendry with five, and Ding Junhui is the reigning champion.

Our Pick:

Ronnie O’Sullivan @10/3

O’Sullivan lifted his sixth world title in Sheffield in August with only a few hundred fans admitted at the Crucible for the final two days, but says playing every tournament behind closed doors in one town is not ideal for the sport.

The seven-times UK champion would prefer to compete at the KT Leisure Centre in Crawley a venue he berated for smelling of urine at the English Open in 2018 – than being forced to travel to every tournament in Milton Keynes.

Chances And Value Picks:

Judd Trump @3/1

Former world champion Trump Enters this event as favourite, and after his shock exit in the World Championship to Kyren Wilson in the quarter finals Trump will be up for this to hold on to his Number 1 ranking.

Ding Junhui  @20/1 Each Way

Ding Junhui beat Stephen Maguire to win the UK Championship title for a third time in the 2019 Event knocking Ronnie O’Sullivan out on his way, not in the best form but at 20/1 work an each-way punt.

Neil Robertson @6/1

The Australian should go into this competition with confidence after some good form and at 6/1 offers value.

Mark Allen @20/1 Each Way

With some huge victories during 2020 over, Trump O’Sullivan and Robertson Mark Allen at 20/1 needs some each-way consideration.
