This card is incredible for a non PPV card. Now, time for the picks. Some of you may be looking for a lock, remember, flash knockouts and fluke submissions always lurk inside the octagon and the dogs are always out for blood in UFC Vegas 11. Gamble responsibly and most of all enjoy yourself. That being said here’s our predictions.
Singles to win:
Colby Covington Decision (-142)
At these odds it’s hard to get excited for this fight. Woodley’s training videos on YouTube aren’t impressive. He looks like an old man without half the explosive movement he had a few years ago. Covington has apparently also made some significant strides in the stand-up department, according to MMA Masters striking coach Cesar Carneiro. If you’re looking for value, Woodley’s only path KO within the first 2 rounds @ +450.
Niko Price by KO (+100)- Rd 1 KO (+300)
What does Cowboy have to offer Niko Price? The fights at WW, Cowboy isn’t a WW, he’s old, Niko has bricks for hands, a granite chin and can hang in the grappling. Betting on anyone Cowboy fights recently has been easy money.
Chimaev (-400)
It’s very likely that Chimaev just gets a hold of Gerald and just beats the shit out of him. Gerald has a tendency to pull guard, which would be a terrible idea here. If it’s another night of the dogs, we see Geralds surviving a beating for 2 rounds and possibly getting a submission late in the fight if Chimaev’s gas tank doesn’t hold up. Gerald by submission @ +650 OR Decision @ +1100.
Holland (-250)
Holland is a better striker, BJJ and grappling fighter. We think Holland has the advantage wherever the fight goes. Holland will be able to pick Stewart apart from distance or even clinch with him against the cage where he can wear Stewart out and land some nasty elbows/knees. Something to consider though, is that Holland has had a nagging shoulder injury. We don’t think that should play a factor here but definitely something to keep in mind if you want to go big on Holland.
Espinosa (-110)
Spann (+100)
Rivera (+180)
Rivera has good pressure and volume, something that Nam lacks. He’s also got the size advantage. He might win based off volume and wrestling alone.
Markos (+150)
Dern, hyped Jiu Jitsu prodigy with terrible takedown technique and terrible striking. Randa is a better wrestler and better striker and her jiu jitsu is formidable. We like Randa to keep it standing, wear Dern out and then start to grapple. Randa by DEC is solid.
Minner (+215)
Very dangerous of us to play a guy who is a 1st round fighter. but his style is so dangerous for Laramie who is a lay and pray artist. Swain almost took his arm on Contender Series, and we think Minner takes his head. Darrick is also HUGE on Laramie, that won’t help TJ in avoiding those long limbs to wrap him up.
