The Six Nations Championship is an annual international men’s rugby union competition between the teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. The current champions are England, who won the 2020 tournament.

Italy vs Ireland, 2.15pm

Ireland will be looking to end a two-game Six Nations losing streak when they face Italy on Saturday (kick-off 2.15pm GMT); the Azzurri will be hoping to build on their competitive display in defeat to England.

Ireland’s third-place finish in the 2020 Six Nations was deemed to be an “average return” by Irish Rugby Football Union performance director David Nucifora. Consecutive defeats mean it is already a tall order to replicate that moderate achievement.

Prediction: Ireland -22.0 @10/11

Wales vs England, 4.45pm

England now face a massive test after the first rest weekend, with Wales gunning to complete a Triple Crown and keep their bid for a second Grand Slam in three years alive while dealing a crushing blow to their fierce rivals in the process.

Wales won their opening games of the tournament  against Ireland and Scotland, but this weekend represents the toughest test of their Grand Slam credentials yet, as reigning champions England head to Cardiff.

Eddie Jones’s side will be looking to build on the victory over Italy in the last round which helped banish a few demons from that opening-round disappointment against Scotland.

Wales have only one three of the last 10 matches between the two sides, and lost both Anglo-Welsh meetings in 2020, with England coming out on top the last time the sides met, in the Autumn Nations Cup, in rainy Llanelli.

Prediction: England -6.0 @1/1
