Detroit Lions vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 6pm uk time

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions are set to kick off a Saturday triple-header in the NFL to further kickstart Week 16. Tom Brady and his club will travel up to Detroit to take on the Lions and hope to pick up a spot in the playoffs before they fly back to Florida. With a win or tie, the Buccaneers will clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2007. As for Detroit, they’re simply trying to play spoiler at this point, sitting in last place in the NFC North.

Arizona Cardinals vs SF 49ers, 9.30pm uk time

The two teams using State Farm Stadium as a home site face off the day after Christmas, as the San Francisco 49ers (5-9) take on the Arizona Cardinals (8-6). The 49ers are coming off of a 41-33 loss against the Dallas Cowboys, and they also lost quarterback Nick Mullens for the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury. San Francisco’s quarterback troubles have hampered them all season, and C.J. Beathard will become the third 49ers quarterback to start this year. As for the Cardinals, they are coming off of an emotional, 33-26 win over Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Kyler Murray was effective both through the air and on the ground, as he passed for 406 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and also rushed for a touchdown. He has nine games with both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown this season, which is the most by a quarterback in a single season in NFL history.

Las Vegas Raiders vs Miami Dolphins, 1.15am uk time

Two AFC playoff hopefuls face off the day after Christmas as Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins (9-5) take their talents to Las Vegas, where they will face the Raiders (7-7). The Dolphins got back into the win column last week by defeating Cam Newton and the New England Patriots, 22-12. It was a well-rounded outing for Miami, as Tagovailoa rushed for two touchdowns, Salvon Ahmed rushed for a career-high 122 yards and a touchdown and the defence kept the Patriots out of the end zone all afternoon. As for the Raiders, they fell in overtime to the Los Angeles Chargers last week, 30-27. More importantly, however, Derek Carr left the game early on due to a groin injury that was supposed to force him to miss some time, but he has gutted out a week of practice and is expected to start.

Prediction: Dolphins -5.0 @11/8
