Carabao Cup Semi-Final, Spurs vs Brentford, 7.45 uk time
Tottenham and Brentford face off on Tuesday for a place in the EFL Cup final. Jose Mourinho was brought to Spurs to win silverware – the club last winning a trophy 13 years ago – and this competition represents his best opportunity since being appointed 14 months ago.
Brentford will prove no pushovers, though, and will be fired up having never reached the last four of the League Cup and will hope to translate their league form, having not lost in any competition since October.
Having already played nine fixtures in the Europa League this season, Jose Mourinho will feel that his Spurs squad have been involved in more than enough matches since the beginning of September.
However, the Premier League side have only been required to come through two fixtures to reach this stage of the EFL Cup, three games fewer than their next opponents.
Predictions:
Tottenham win @ 4/9
Tottenham over 2.5 goals @6/4
