Our next step is at el Carman in Mexico for the world wide technology championship. Viktor hovland has won this event two years in a row and will be looking to make it 3.

The course this week is another short one at 7,039 yards. It is another birdie fest course, with the winning score the last 4 years being -20 or better. It was designed by ass clown Greg Norman, and features beautiful scenery through several different types of backgrounds.

There are opportunities to score everywhere here. There are three c short par 3s at 116, 151, and 155 yards, and a number of short, scoreable par 4s. The par 5s seem reachable for the heavy hitters, but we suspect we’ll see a lot of laying up to the yardage of choice and wedge play on those. They are still quite scoreable as well.

There are penalty areas everywhere on this course, and some holes will force you to carry obstacles. The keys here seem to be hitting fairways and staying out of the penalty areas, and hitting the greens in the right spots to give yourself scoring opportunities.

The main thing were looking for here is driving accuracy. Hit well and in the right spots off the tee and all of these pros should be able to set themselves up to score. Hit an errant tee shot and you could be in deep shit. We’ll also be looking at par 3 scoring and par 5s particularly in the 550 range.

Betting Picks:

Hovland @9/1

Viktor owns this course and the record 72 for 72 holes, so it will be tough to bet against him.

Scheffler @8/1

Scottie finished fourth here last year and will be looking to reclaim the title of world #1 with a win. Its interesting to see where his odds have landed.

Long @66/1

Adam long has two top 5 finishes here and should get great odds in this field.

Day @33/1

Jason Day always has to be considered, yes inconsistent but can come good when least expected.
