This track needs an update in the worst way. Monaco is no longer a relevant Formula 1 race. It's mostly done after Qualifying and it really isn't 'special'. It's a snooze-fest parade and nobody cares about looking at ugly billionaires anymore. Social status is more evolved past simply being obscenely rich these days.

Love the history and beauty of Monaco but we all know it's a free 25 points for the pole winner. Maybe the points need to be reduced but change is definitely necessary
THEY SHOULD GET RID OF MONACO THE RACE IS BORING
One of the oldest and in the modern era most boring track. Don't get me wrong, F1 is always interesting and fun to watch but I would be happy to see it replaced ( not that it will ever happen).
Monaco is not a special race anymore. Maybe a special qualifying. Going forward it should be an exhibition race if they dont want to pay
Monaco is best raced with vintage cars. It's an over-rated, celebrity/ultra-rich entertainment venue. Qualy is exciting.
This is sick, I hate this event. You call this a race??? Gee weez, no possible overtakes is not a race I call that a parade. Overtakes only happen on car accidents or driver mistake. Its the biggest bling bling car event. Of course the glamour and prestige is there. But, I do agree with Mc Laren, please change the design of the track and make something happend in order to have overtaking. If not, this (race) shoul be abandonned. So freaking boring! Would you watch a football game with no goals? or would you watch a baseball game with no bats? How about fishing with yoyos instead of fishing rods? Got my point? This event has been a big Ā« farce Ā» for too long.
Maybe it could be more fun to have all drivers to run a marathon in Monaco, then we will see ovetakes. So be serious and make Monaco to come back to a real race again.
Watching F1 at Monaco is like watching paint dry
Saturday should be nuts with charles and max being men on a mission. Merc just catching up is going to be hungry as well. Could be anyone of the top 6 drivers on pole.

Well as a minority I think that Monaco is truly a special and thrilling race. I like to watch drivers be on edge for 78 laps and when they do overtake on track it'll be so much more special and rewarding. I also love strategies so it'll be interesting for me to see what the teams come up with.
And yes Monaco is special, it's special for the drivers to be on their limit and of course its rich history. Yes I think that they should pay as much as other tracks, but don't make it easier to overtake because then Monaco simply wouldn't be Monaco anymore, just a normal street circuit

Monaco is a rubbish race – you just need to watch qualifying and the dash to the first corner – it's only the fluff around it that the sponsors like so we all have to suffer. Here's an idea though: Why not turn it into a time trial

Since most commenters seem to say they find Monaco boring then please go and watch Indy 500. Foot flat, turn left, foot flat, turn left, foot flat, turn left, ad nauseum. The only thing that makes the 500 less boring are the accidents. Leave Monaco alone.

Monaco is outdated. The cars are too big for the track.
Current cars are too big and heavy for Monaco, the historics looked much more suited to it.

The cars this year is the same width, heavier but they'll follow closer. It'll either be a dramatic race with someone trying to pass ending in the barriers or it'll be the usual procession around Monte Carlo.
We have to keep Monaco. I love the race. I have watched most of the races there since the 60s, as a wee lad, "victory, the agony of defeat". ABC's Wide World of Sports. And don't forget Grand Prix, 4 times in a row at the movie theater.
Hate to tell you Monaco ISN"T special and just another road course at this point. At least for us fans it is.
Boring and lame! Adapt/change it or drop it from the calendar. If Monaco is SO SPECIAL, it should pay more to be on the calendar, not less.

I dont think Monaco is special anymore. As a driver Yes, as a Race NO! There is almost no passing and almost no action. Compared to most track there is just a bunch of drivers like sitting ducks! Getting boring and boring. Lets hope the New cars make any difference if not, OUT!!
In my opinion this isnt a boring race. Not many passes, but if they try to pass one another, its very exciting. Also driving on the limit every lap. And strategy-passes can be also exciting.
