Our Picks:
Christian McCaffrey over 82.5 rushing yards @ 1.85
Panthers -8 @ 1.91
The Panthers should walk out of Houston with a win. We imagine they won’t take their foot off the gas so they can secure a 3-0 start to the season. They will get the ball into the hands of their best player any and every chance they can get. Houston just gave up 95 yards rushing to Nick Chubb last week and we expect CMC to match it.
Tyrod Taylor is out for the Texans and will be replaced by third round draftee Davis Mills.
Mills had an excellent college career. The only issue is a lot of those game weren’t played under the immense pressure he’s going to face here-due to the largely empty stadiums because of Covid.
The good news is that he’s at home. The bad news is he’s facing a D that sacked Jameis Winston four times last week. The Panthers’ defense is also allowing the fewest yards per play in the NFL at 3.7.
The Carolina D has been so impressive early in the season-numerous metrics have them as the number 1 defense in the NFL.
There’s not much more to this pick than that. Rookie QB vs. top D. Panthers cover.
