EFL Championship Promotion and Relegation Betting Picks

With the return of English Championship Football this weekend, Kicking off with a huge match between Bournemouth and West Brom on Friday at 7.45 GMT, we look at our 3 promotion and relegation favourites. Plus explain a bit about it.

The English Football League Championship is the highest division of the English Football League and second-highest overall in the English football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs.

Our 3 Promotion Favs:

West Brom To Boing Straight Back @13/8

West Bromwich Albion have turned to the former Barnsley head coach Valérien Ismaël to replace Sam Allardyce and lead their promotion charge. West Brom can expect the same high-pressing, high-intensity, direct and dogged football that took Barnsley to the play-offs last season, against all odds, and ruffled a few feathers along the way.

Birmingham City @12/1

Before the Blues old boy replaced Aitor Karanka, City had looked on course for relegation to League One themselves, but ended up finishing nine points above the drop zone in 18th place. With signings in and Bowyer been able to put his mark on the club things finally look bright and this could well be there year if they emulate the form of which Bowyer’s men became known for at the end of last season.

Queens Park Rangers @11/2

A bit of a surprise package last season and ended up unlucky, but with more building in the team ranks with Andre Dozzell, Charlie Austin, Sam Field, and Jordy de Wijs plus more joining the club and something to build on after last season could the R’s finally make a long awaited return to the top flight.

Relegation Picks:

Peterborough @5/2

Posh were promoted to the Championship at the end of last season, making it their first time back in the second tier since 2012/13. With in minutes of there promotion they was already favourites to go down baring maybe Derby who were in limbo over finances. So unless Darren Ferguson can get some tips from his Dad (Sir Alex) we dont see much of a chance here, unless you fancy them @66/1 to win the league…..

Luton @6/1

It could be said Luton were good last season or lucky, maybe they over achieved but what ever your opinion they finished in a healthy 12th position, but we think they will struggle this term and possibly suffer the one season curse. If im wrong I will write an apology to the club personally.

Bristol City @4/1

Not the best season to build on and not much movement, narrowly avoiding relegation we see trouble ahead. They finished 19th in the standings, which will have been frustrating to witness for the Ashton Gate faithful. They have bought in a few recruits but seem to have lost more, lets see what Pearson can do.
