The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly known simply as Wimbledon or The Championships, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely regarded as the most prestigious.

Karolina Muchova vs Camila Giorgi, 11am GMT

Giorgi is an opponent no one wants to face in the early rounds of a Slam. The Italian’s lacking consistency but most of the matches she plays are on her racket through the hyper-aggressive playstyle. The surface should give her a slight edge here.

Our Pick: Giorgi Win @5/4

Kaja Juvan vs Clara Burel, 1pm GMT

After a successful qualifying campaign, Burel did really well to fend off another triumphant negotiator of the Roehampton gauntlet in Perez. But it’s nothing compared to how excellent Juvan was in her upset over Bencic and if she can bring that level to her second round, she should prevail.

Our Pick: Juvan 2-1 @7/2

Nao Hibino vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich, 2pm GMT

It’s hard to really assess Aliaksandra Sasnovich’s first-round performance with her match with Serena Williams lasting just six games. Nao Hibino, meanwhile, snapped a four-match losing streak by beating Bernarda Pera in the first round in three sets. But Sasnovich probably has the higher ceiling of the two and the Belarusian will surely not want to waste the chance created by Williams’ unfortunate withdrawal.

Our Pick: Sasnovich 2-0 @1/1

Kei Nishikori vs Jordan Thompson, 12pm GMT

Not only was Thompson unable to handle a player in Casper Ruud, who was out of his element Wednesday on grass, he also comes in with bad form and is 0-2 over his career against the Japanese standout. I think the price here on Nishikori to just win in fewer than five sets is really good. He will likely win in straights,

Our Pick: Nishikori 3-0 @11/8

Roger Federer vs Richard Gasquet, 3.30pm GMT

Roger Federer has dominated their head-to-head rivalry in recent years. The Swiss has beaten Gasquet in 18 matches, while the French man only two. Both were a long time ago, and on clay: Monte-Carlo 2005 and Rome 2011.

Our Pick: Federer 3-0 @6/5

Marin Cilic vs Benjamin Bonzi, 1pm GMT

Marin Cilic has not been at his best in recent times but the Croatian should make easy work against Bonzi, the Frenchman  is yet to win a major but at 25 could still progress in the future.

Our Pick: Cilic 3-0 @6/5
