The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly known simply as Wimbledon or The Championships, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is widely regarded as the most prestigious.

Novak Djokovic vs Kevin Anderson, 1.30pm GMT

It was a five-setter at Wimbledon back in the day, but Anderson’s not in the same form or health at the moment. His serve can still hurt, and he blasted 40 aces in his opener, but it will be a mismatch from the ground. Anderson is dangerous but he won’t be able to keep up the required level in this long format.

Our Pick: Djokovic 3-1 @10/3

Oscar Otte vs Andy Murray, 3.30pm GMT

The qualifier Otte is good on grass, qualified well, and is improving his game. However, his resume pales in comparison to Murray, who willed himself to a Round 1 victory and has the home crowd fully behind him on every point. Murray’s nowhere near the player he was, and the lack of consistency will be frustrating for the Scot, but he’s still better than Otte on court, and on paper. Advantage to Murray to get another match in his Wimbledon return.

Our Pick: Match to go 4 sets @13/8

Jiri Vesely  vs Marton Fucsovics, 2pm GMT

Vesely can always be a factor on grass thanks to his serve, but the Czech hasn’t been playing his best tennis recently. Fucsovics always overperforms at the Major (he already kind of did with the win over Sinner), and should be able to keep the ball low to make Vesely bend the knees in the rallies. Close call here.

Our Pick: Fucsovic 3-2 @5/1

Iga Swiatek vs Vera Zvonareva, 2.30pm GMT

Iga Swiatek was handed a tough draw up against the unorthodox Hsieh Su-wei, but she negotiated it in impressive style, beating the Taiwanese 6-4 6-4. She may be tested again up against Vera Zvonareva, who it should not be forgotten is a former-Wimbledon finalist, but expect the Pole to have the edge.

Our Pick: Swiatek 2-0 @12/5

Ons Jabeur vs Venus Williams, 4pm GMT

Venus Williams winning matches at the Slams is a great feel-good story now and hopefully, she’ll get to play on one of the show courts this time around. This match deserves it as Jabeur is an absolutely fantastic, crafty grass-courter. It won’t be too competitive, but the entertainment value should be there.

Our Pick: Jabeur 2-0 @11/10
