Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova vs Tamara Zidansek, 2.05 GMT
What a week it has been for Tamara Zidansek. Before this tournament, she had never made it past the second round of a grand slam. Now she has made her first slam semi-final, and she’s done it in style.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, too, is into her first slam semi final at 29 years of age having lost her last 6 quarter finals. She must be delighted, not least because she tends to favor hard courts, and she’s shown tremendous heart when it counts in this event.
This is so far probably the toughest match to call but here goes.
Our Pick: Zidansek 2-1 @4/1
Barbora Krejcikova vs Maria Sakkari, 3.05 GMT
To say Sakkari was incredible against Swiatek would be an understatement, in fact this whole tournament thus far she’s been in amazing form, bar a small hiccup against Elise Mertens. Krejcikova on the other hand has surprised everyone with her run to the last four with never having made even the third round before. But the Czech needed a fair amount of help from teenager Cori Gauff in order to make it this far and I can’t see Sakkari letting up on this one.
Our Pick: Sakkari 2-0 @11/8
